International Travel
Cairns International Airport (CNS) is located just 7 kilometres (4 miles) from the city centre. It offers direct flights from several international cities and also connects through Australia’s major airports. Cairns International Airport hosts direct flights from destinations in Asia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands, including Singapore, Tokyo, Bali, and Auckland. Seasonal flights are also available from select European and North American cities. Many international visitors connect via Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane, which offer frequent flights to Cairns. |
Getting to Cairns from the Airport
Once you arrive at Cairns International Airport, getting to the city centre is quick and easy. Several Airport shuttle companies operate regular services between the airport and hotels in Cairns. Taxis and rideshare options like Uber are available directly from the airport terminal. If you plan to explore the surrounding areas, rental cars are readily available at the airport.
